Why siding jobs go wrong
Most siding failures start behind the panels, not on them.
Siding is the part you see, but leaks, rot and voided warranties come from what sits behind it and the order the work is done in. These three mistakes cause most of the calls we get about other contractors' jobs.
Replacing when a repair would do
Soft boards on one wall do not always mean new siding for the whole house. We probe and meter every wall and put a repair price next to the replacement price, in writing.
A warranty voided by the install
Makers like James Hardie and CertainTeed only honor warranties when their instructions are followed. We install each product to its own rules and keep photos of clearances and nailing.

What people ask before choosing a siding service.
Do I need siding replacement or just a repair?
A repair is enough when the damage sits on one wall, usually under a window or roof edge, and the boards around it test dry. Replacement makes sense when soft or swollen boards appear on several walls or water has reached the inside. We test every wall and put both prices in writing.
Should I choose vinyl or fiber cement?
Vinyl costs roughly half as much, never needs paint and suits rentals and tighter budgets. Fiber cement lasts longer, resists fire, dents and woodpeckers, and looks like painted wood. Many owners compare both, so we price them side by side.
Is James Hardie different from other fiber cement?
It is one maker of fiber cement, with the widest color range, climate-specific products and a matching trim line. Other makers can cost less or suit modern panel facades better. The James Hardie page covers its products; the fiber cement page compares brands.
When does it make sense to redo the whole exterior at once?
When windows and siding are both near the end of their life, or you plan to sell within a couple of years. Doing them together saves scaffolding and setup, puts windows in before siding and gets colors that match.
Which siding service takes the least time?
A repair or one-wall replacement takes two to four days. Vinyl on a whole house takes one to two weeks, fiber cement two to four, and a full exterior renovation with windows and an entry six to twelve weeks.
Why do siding prices vary so much from one area to another?
Crew wages, dump fees and permit rules differ widely across states and even counties, and climate changes which products make sense. The ranges here are national typicals; the estimate you receive is worked out for your street once we have seen the house.
