Storm damage repair · 24/7 line · Licensed & insured · Local crews
When wind, hail or a falling tree breaks the outside of the house, the first job is keeping rain out. We board broken windows, tarp torn walls and brace damaged framing the same day, then photograph everything for your adjuster. Roof damage has its own team and page; this crew handles the rest.
Stay clear of downed lines and leaning trees. A crew lead answers day or night and tells you what is safe to do.
What happens after you text us
After big storms, contractors from far away go door to door. We are the opposite: you text us, a licensed local crew lead asks what is open to the weather, and you get a same-day time to secure the house.
The storm last night knocked a big oak limb into the side of the house. Two windows are broken and some siding is hanging off.
Hi Jennifer, this is Ryan, storm crew lead. First, is anyone hurt, and are there any power lines on or near the limb? If so, keep everyone away and call the utility.
Nobody hurt, no wires. It is resting against the wall. Sending photos.
Thanks. The limb is on the wall, not the roof, so we can cut it off the house safely. We will be there by noon to remove it, board both windows and tarp the siding. I will photograph everything for your adjuster.
That is fast. What happens after that?
Tomorrow morning I check the framing behind the siding and send a written repair estimate. You decide who does the repair once you have it.
What storm damage repair costs
Most wind and hail damage to siding and windows lands in the Repair tier. When a tree breaks studs, joists or a wall, the job becomes a structural rebuild with an engineer. Roof damage is quoted separately by our roofing team.

Averages from our recent wind and hail repairs without structural damage. Matching discontinued siding or window styles is often the most expensive detail, and the one most likely to be missing from a quick estimate.

Patch a section or re-side the wall
A patch that does not match lowers the value of the house and often leads to a dispute with the insurer. We bring samples, check the profile and color, and write down whether a section repair or a full wall is the honest answer.
| If this is true | We recommend |
|---|---|
| The siding profile and color are still made | Patch the section |
| The siding is discontinued or badly faded | Re-side the wall |
| Damage covers less than a quarter of the wall | Patch the section |
| Hail dented panels across the whole side | Re-side the wall |
| Only one or two windows were broken | Patch the section |
| Sheathing behind the siding is soaked or split | Re-side the wall |
How long it takes
Board-up and tarps go on the day you call. Siding and window repairs take one to three weeks, depending on how fast matching materials arrive. Structural rebuilds after a tree strike take four to ten weeks.

Day one
Limbs cut away from the wall, windows boarded, torn siding tarped and every area photographed.

Days two to four
Framing and sheathing checked behind the damage, samples matched, written estimate sent to you.

Week two
Adjuster review, matching siding and windows ordered, permit filed when framing is repaired.

Weeks two to three
Sheathing, wrap, siding, trim and glass installed, debris hauled away, walkthrough with you.

What the repairs are made of
Storm repairs should look like the storm never happened. The estimate names the siding brand, profile and color, and the window type, so the adjuster and you know exactly what goes back.

Matched by profile and color from makers such as CertainTeed, Mastic and Royal, including discontinued colors found through salvage suppliers.

James Hardie planks and trim for walls that need more hail and wind resistance, painted to match the rest of the house.

Andersen, Pella and Milgard windows sized to the opening, or new glass units in the existing frames when only the pane broke.

OSB or plywood sheathing and Tyvek wrap replaced behind any damaged siding, so rain that got in once cannot keep getting in.

Half-inch plywood cut to each opening and screwed, not nailed, into the frame so it comes off cleanly without more damage.

Adjustable steel posts and timber that hold up a damaged wall or porch roof until the framing is rebuilt under permit.

Your storm damage is not average
Every storm repair starts from the same three tiers, then changes for what hit the house and how the claim is handled. Find the case that matches what you see.
We photograph every side of the house, measure the damage and write the estimate in the format adjusters use. We meet the adjuster on site if you want, and you choose who does the repair once the estimate is approved.
Book my storm photos for the claimKeep everyone out of the rooms under the tree. We coordinate a tree crew or crane to lift it off without more damage, brace the framing the same day and tarp the opening before the next band of rain arrives.
Call now about a tree on my houseCoastal repairs often need impact-rated windows and siding fastened to higher wind codes. We check your local requirements and price the upgrade the code demands on its own line, which many policies cover under ordinance coverage.
Get my coastal storm repair planWood clapboard, old trim profiles and original windows can be repaired rather than replaced. We match profiles with a local mill and keep the house's character in every repaired section, so the patch reads as original from the street.
Price a repair that keeps the detailsSmall storm repairs sometimes cost less than the deductible. We give you a quick written price so you can decide with your agent whether filing makes sense before a claim is opened and goes on your record.

Price the whole property's damageWhat this service is
Storm damage repair is the emergency securing and permanent repair of a home's walls, windows, doors, siding, trim and framing after wind, hail or a falling tree. ProBuild Remodeling performs it as a licensed contractor: same-day board-up, tarps and bracing, documentation for insurance, and repairs matched to the existing materials. Roof damage is handled by our separate roofing team.
The service covers board-up of windows and doors, wall tarps, removal of limbs from the house in coordination with tree crews, temporary shoring, siding, trim, soffit, fascia and gutter repair, window and glass replacement, sheathing and framing repairs, and interior damage from rain getting in. It does not include roof replacement or roof repair, tree removal away from the house, or landscaping.
It is for homeowners with damage to the outside of the house after a storm, landlords with damaged rentals, and anyone filing a wind or hail claim. It is not for roof leaks after a storm, which our roofing team inspects on its own page, or for flood damage from rising water, which is a water damage loss.
Questions about storm damage
Emergency board-up and tarping run $800 to $5,000. Repairing siding, trim and windows to match runs $5,000 to $25,000. Rebuilding framing, walls or a porch after a tree strike runs $25,000 to $90,000 or more. Roof damage is priced separately.
Keep everyone away from downed wires and leaning trees, photograph the damage from a safe distance, and call your insurer to report it. Then call a licensed local contractor to secure the house. Do not sign anything with a door-to-door contractor on the spot.
A tree crew removes the tree, and a contractor secures and repairs the house. We coordinate both, so the tree is lifted off without more damage and the opening is braced and tarped the same day. Homeowners insurance usually covers removal when the tree hits a structure.
Most policies cover sudden wind and hail damage to siding, windows and structure, minus your deductible. Some policies have separate wind or hail deductibles. We document the damage for your adjuster; the coverage decision belongs to your insurer.
Look for dents or cracks in siding, chipped paint on trim, cracked or fogged window glass, and dents in gutters and downspouts. Damage is often only on the sides facing the storm. We inspect every side and photograph each dent.
Usually yes. We match the profile, size and color through the maker or salvage suppliers. When the siding is discontinued or faded, a patch will not match and we recommend re-siding the wall, which many policies cover under matching rules.
Real contractors are licensed in your state, have a local address, give written estimates and never ask you to sign over your claim at the door. Be careful of anyone who asks for a large deposit or offers to cover your deductible.
Usually the same day you call, and within hours when a window or wall is open to rain. After a widespread storm, calls are handled in order of safety: open walls and trees on houses first, then everything else.
