It does not include legal boundary disputes, which need a licensed surveyor and sometimes an attorney, chain link for commercial lots, or repairing a few sections of an existing fence.

- Racking
- Tilting fence panels to follow a slope smoothly. Works with aluminum and some wood styles, not solid vinyl.
- Stepping
- Setting each panel level but lower than the one before on a slope. Leaves small triangular gaps under panels.

How close to the property line can I put a fence?
Many towns allow a fence right on or just inside the line; some require a setback of a few inches to a few feet. We place the fence a few inches inside your line unless you and your neighbor sign an agreement, and we confirm the local rule first.
Do I need a permit for a fence?
Many towns require one, especially for fences over 4 to 6 feet tall, front yard fences and pool barriers. We check the rule for your address, file the permit when needed and schedule any inspection.
What is the best fence for privacy?
A 6 foot solid vinyl or tongue-and-groove wood fence gives full privacy. Board-on-board wood allows airflow with no see-through gaps. Some towns allow 8 feet in back yards, which we check before recommending it.
How long does a fence last?
Pressure-treated wood lasts about 15 years, cedar 15 to 20 with care, vinyl 20 to 30 or more, and aluminum often longer. Posts set deep in concrete and gates hung on braced posts matter as much as the material.
What are the rules for a pool fence?
Most US codes require a barrier at least 48 inches tall, no openings a 4-inch ball can pass through, and gates that open outward, self-close and self-latch with the latch at least 54 inches up. Local rules can add more, and we build to yours.
Which side of the fence faces the neighbor?
Usually the finished side faces out toward the neighbor or street, and many towns and HOAs require it. Board-on-board and many vinyl styles look the same on both sides, which avoids the question entirely.
Can a fence be installed in winter?
Yes, as long as the ground is not frozen too hard to dig. Winter is often the quickest time to get on the schedule, and concrete is protected while it cures in cold weather.
