A full remodel takes six weeks, and every week has a date on it.
A refresh takes 3 to 4 weeks, a layout change 8 to 11. Your temporary kitchen station, with fridge, microwave and a sink, is set up before demolition starts.

Kitchen remodeling is the replacement or renovation of cabinets, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, plumbing and electrical in an existing kitchen, with or without changes to the layout. ProBuild Remodeling performs it as a licensed general contractor: one contract, one crew, one supervisor, permits pulled under our license.
The service covers three levels of work: a refresh that keeps the layout and cabinet boxes, a full remodel that replaces cabinets and everything around them, and a layout change that moves walls, adds an island or relocates plumbing. It does not include appliances, furniture, or work outside the kitchen unless it is written into the scope. Every project ends with a final walkthrough, a punch list and a written ten-year workmanship warranty.
It is for homeowners who live in the house and plan to stay, homeowners preparing a house for sale, and adult children arranging a safer kitchen for a parent. It is not for investors flipping a property on a two-week schedule or for repairs under a few thousand dollars, which we refer to a handyman.

- Refacing
- New doors, drawer fronts and a matching veneer on cabinet boxes you keep. About forty percent of the cost of new cabinets.
- Semi-custom cabinets
- Factory-built cabinets in standard sizes with many door styles and finishes. Brands like KraftMaid, Wellborn and Fabuwood.
- Plywood box
- The body of the cabinet made of layered wood. Holds screws, survives leaks, lasts decades. Particleboard does not.
- Quartz countertop
- Crushed stone bound with resin. Non-porous, so it does not stain or need sealing. Cambria, Silestone and Caesarstone are quartz brands.
- Rough-in
- The pipes and wires installed inside the walls before the cabinets go in. Inspected before the walls are closed.
- Contingency
- A set-aside, usually 10 to 15 percent, for problems found behind the walls. Used only with your written approval, refunded if unused.
- Change order
- A written, priced addition to the contract for anything you add or anything we find. Nothing is built or billed without one.
- Punch list
- The list of small fixes you and the supervisor make together at the final walkthrough, closed before the last payment.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost?
Most full remodels land between $38,000 and $68,000. A refresh that keeps the cabinets runs $18,000 to $32,000. A layout change with a wall coming down starts around $70,000. Your written estimate shows all three tiers side by side so you can decide where to spend.
Can we keep our appliances and reuse them in the new kitchen?
Yes, if they fit the new layout and are in good working order. We measure each one at the visit, build the cabinet openings around them, and disconnect, store and reconnect them. Panel-ready upgrades are quoted as a separate line so you can decide later.
How long will we be without a kitchen?
A refresh takes 3 to 4 weeks, a full remodel 5 to 7, a layout change 8 to 11. Your contract has a start date and a finish date. We set up a temporary kitchen station with your fridge, microwave and a sink before demolition begins.
Who will be inside my house?
The crew you meet at the pre-construction walkthrough: a project manager and the same team every day, all background-checked and introduced by name. No unannounced subcontractors.
Do I need to move out?
No. Most families stay home. Dust barriers seal the kitchen from the rest of the house, floors are protected, and the crew cleans up every evening. Work hours are 8am to 4pm on weekdays unless you ask otherwise.
Should I reface my cabinets or replace them?
Reface if the boxes are solid plywood and you like the layout: it costs about 40 percent of new cabinets. Replace if the boxes are particleboard, water-damaged, or you want a different layout. We tell you which one applies at the site visit, in writing.
What does a kitchen permit cover, and how long does it take?
Any kitchen that moves plumbing, adds circuits or removes a wall needs a building permit, plus electrical and plumbing sign-offs. We file it under our license during the design weeks, so approval usually arrives before demolition and never stalls the schedule.
What happens if you find old wiring, plumbing or lead paint?
We document it, price it separately and explain what code requires versus what is optional. In older homes with lead paint we follow the EPA lead-safe rules. You approve every item before work continues.
